PREGNANCY, BIRTH, & PARENTHOOD COUNSELLING IN BURNABY
Support through pregnancy, birth, postpartum adjustment, and the transition into parenthood. Make space for the emotional changes, relationship shifts, anxiety, and uncertainty that can come with this stage of life. Online for clients in Burnaby and across British Columbia.
Pregnancy, birth, and parenthood change many parts of life all at once. Your body, relationships, routines, identity, priorities, and sense of responsibility are all shifting, often much faster than you have time to even process.
Some of these changes may feel exciting and meaningful, while others may be much harder to navigate. Counselling gives you space to talk openly about what this period is actually like, including the parts that may be difficult to say out loud.
Who we work with
You do not need to be in crisis to seek support during pregnancy or parenthood.
You may be preparing for a baby, adjusting after birth, struggling with the emotional impact of a difficult birth experience, finding the transition into parenthood harder than expected, or trying to balance parenting with your relationship, career, and sense of self.
Counselling helps when worry has become difficult to switch off or the weight of responsibility is starting to feel overwhelming. It also gives you space to make sense of how your relationships and sense of self have changed during this period.
Understanding perinatal therapy
Pregnancy and parenthood are major life transitions, and the emotional adjustment does not always happen at the same pace as the practical changes around you.
Therapy helps you make sense of how pregnancy or parenthood is affecting you, especially when the reality feels different from what you expected. It gives you space to understand the emotional and practical changes that come with this stage of life.
There is no right way to feel about becoming a parent. In our sessions, you can bring all of it, the joy and the doubt alike. Together we look at what is making this stage hard and find ways through it that feel manageable and true to you.
